Residents identified community transport as the top area for action (voted by 81% of attendees)\, followed by climate education focusing on green space (71%)\, then by community energy (53%). DESCRIPTION:Join WLCAN and Local Energy Scotland plus partners for an interactive webinar and workshop day. Join online – 10am-noon and 2pm-4pm. SUMMARY:Festival of Movement - Linlithgow
DESCRIPTION:Move For Good’s Festival of Movement is a one-day celebration of all the positivity found when we move actively and sustainably in our everyday lives. There will be activities to try\, people to meet and fun to be had for all abilities and ages\, taking place across Linlithgow and the West Lothian Cycle Circuit. \nWLCAN will be there with a stall\, asking for your views on transport in Linlithgow and across the region. We’ll be using our interactive Slido voting system to gather information about transport methods such as how working from home has changed your household’s travel; what transport challenges you face; views on sustainable alternatives to cars such as ferry\, tram and cycling. We’ll also be looking for information on how climate change in general has affected people locally\, through extreme weather. You can also find out more about your local climate action hub.  \nFor the wider event\, expect creative workshops\, talks\, taster sessions and opportunities to get moving through our programme that includes many of our partner organisations from West Lothian and beyond. DESCRIPTION:Members are invited to join us to mark WLCAN’s first year. This will be a morning showcase of what the network has achieved so far. Stalls will represent many of West Lothian’s community groups and organisations. This is an opportunity to meet others involved in climate related work across West Lothian. The gathering is from 10am-1.30pm. If you’d like to host a stall as a member or visit as a delegate please fill in this form. \nGetting there: Howden Park Centre is a 10-minute walk from the bus terminal at Livingston Shopping Centre. The closest bus stops are on Howden East and at the entrance to St John’s Hospital\, with both a two minute walk away. It is also accessible by bike\, with bike racks on site\, and car\, with carpark. DESCRIPTION:We’re planning our first major themed event\, digging deep into food growing and how it is impacted by the climate emergency. \nThe event\, at West Lothian College on 24 June\, will feature speakers from groups leading food growing across the region\, as well as related projects in youth work\, health improvement and tackling poverty and inequality. \nFurther speakers on the programme will come from the business and political arenas\, to help us advocate the undisputed benefits of growing food locally.
