DESCRIPTION:Do you manage a community building and are worried about the heating bills? \nJoin WLCAN and HeatHack for a workshop to help representatives of community groups understand practical actions to reduce energy use in their premises\, make changes to their buildings and their heating systems that are appropriate given how they intend to use it in the future\, climate change\, and current net zero policy initiatives. \nThe workshops are suitable for all building types\, including churches\, and will include strategies for dealing with hard-to-retrofit buildings if organisations with them are in attendance. \nIf you are interested or would like to sign up please email jocelyn@wlcan.scot

SUMMARY:WLCAN Eco Gathering
DESCRIPTION:Members are invited to join us to mark WLCAN’s first year. This will be a morning showcase of what the network has achieved so far. Stalls will represent many of West Lothian’s community groups and organisations. This is an opportunity to meet others involved in climate related work across West Lothian. The gathering is from 10am-1.30pm. If you’d like to host a stall as a member or visit as a delegate please fill in this form. \nGetting there: Howden Park Centre is a 10-minute walk from the bus terminal at Livingston Shopping Centre. The closest bus stops are on Howden East and at the entrance to St John’s Hospital\, with both a two minute walk away. It is also accessible by bike\, with bike racks on site\, and car\, with carpark. DESCRIPTION:We’re planning our first major themed event\, digging deep into food growing and how it is impacted by the climate emergency. \nThe event\, at West Lothian College on 24 June\, will feature speakers from groups leading food growing across the region\, as well as related projects in youth work\, health improvement and tackling poverty and inequality. \nFurther speakers on the programme will come from the business and political arenas\, to help us advocate the undisputed benefits of growing food locally. Workshops after lunch will provide the opportunity to learn more\, and WLCAN Hub will show how we are connecting the region’s food growing network. \nBook your place through Eventbrite and remember to advise of any dietary requirements for lunch.
