Don’t Bin It, Win It!

Calling young content creators this summer

Love videos and getting creative? We have just the thing! We’ve launched a summer competition with West Lothian Youth Action Project for young people to make a short video showing off their sustainability activities. Maybe you’ve been growing plants since spring and they’re now starting to sprout. Why not show us how you look after them.

Or maybe you enjoy making clothes, using fabric for other things, or upcycling furniture. Do you help look after green spaces in your neighbourhood so nature can thrive? Or are you a technical whizz who’s made something work with solar power?

Maybe you made a bug hotel and want to show it off… a bit like this!

Whether you’re fired up by sun, water, earth or wind, if you like re-using and making new things, or helping wildlife, we’d like to see what you do.

Here’s how:

Take part as an individual/with friends. This is open to young people in West Lothian aged 13 and over. Or, take part with a youth group. This is open to youth groups, clubs, and organisations in West Lothian.

Group submissions can include young people under the age of 13, provided the youth group has obtained appropriate written permission from their parents or guardians.

You’ll send your video using a form that is provided by WLYAP and no personal profile or information will be visible. The competition is open from early summer 2026 (closing date 7 August) and there will be a PRIZE for the best video – Individual Stream Winner: £50 voucher.
Youth Group Stream Winner: £100 awarded directly to the winning youth organisation/club.

You won’t have to post your video on any social media.
